Greetings

MESSAGE FROM THE PERRON-BEAUDRY FAMILY

It is with great joy that we will represent our dearest Festival du Voyageur for the next two years as the Official Voyageur Family. We feel honoured and privileged to have the chance to be ambassadors for our festival, our history, our language and our culture in Manitoba, Canada and internationally.

We proudly follow in the snowshoe tracks of our predecessors Cabrel, Miguel, Amélie, Catherine, Michelle and Marcel Sorin as we embark into the great Order of the Voyageur canot with great admiration for the 35 paddlers who came before us. Soon, we will carve out our own unique place in the history of our renowned festival.

Just as the fur trade relied on great relations and successful exchanges between individuals, peoples and nations, the Perron-Beaudry family hopes to engage and share beautiful moments with every person who crosses our path during the 10 days of Festival du Voyageur. This will be accomplished by kissing cheeks, sharing anecdotes, playing games, telling stories, playing music and friendly competitions.

We are very excited to share “joie de vivre” with all of you! From February 17 to 26, be a Hého Hero along with us! Hééééé Hooooo!

MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER, BRIAN PALLISTER AND THE MINISTER OF MANITOBA SPORTS, CULTURE, HERITAGE AND FRANCOPHONE AFFAIRS, ROCHELLE SQUIRES

On behalf of all Manitobans, we welcome you to the 2017 Festival du Voyageur.

Whether it is the attractions of Fort Gibraltar and Voyageur Park, the beautiful snow sculptures or traditional food and music, the Festival is a wonderful celebration of Franco-Manitoban culture and our province’s rich Voyageur, Metis and First Nations history.

Thank you to the many volunteers who make Festival du Voyageur such a great experience each year.

MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR OF WINNIPEG, BRIAN BOWMAN

Welcome to another year of Festival du Voyageur! One of my favourite Manitoba
festivals.

Festival du Voyageur is such an iconic festival in Winnipeg, celebrating Métis and
First Nations Culture. It’s also the perfect example of how Winnipeggers, more
than anyone, know how to embrace cold weather!

The festival has now been running for 47 years, and it gets better every year!

So whether you’re a seasoned Voyageur or a newcomer, I invite you to join me
from February 17th to 26th for some great music, amazing food, and wondrous
sights.

Let’s re-embody the spirit of the voyageurs!

Hé Ho!
